چکیده

We present an approach for video based human motion capture using a static multi camera setup. The image data of calibrated video cameras is used to generate dense volumentric reconstructions of a person within the capure volume. The 3d reconstructions are then used to fit a 3d cone model into the data utilizing the Iterative Closest Point (ICP) algorithm. We can show that it is beneficial to use multi camera data instead of a single time of flight camera to gain more robust results in the overall tracking approach.

3D Markerless Human Limb Localization through Robust Energy Minimization

Markerless human tracking addresses the problem of estimating human body motion in non-cooperative environments. Computer Vision techniques combined with Pattern Recognition theory serve the purpose of extracting information on human body postures from videosequences, without the need of wearable markers. Multi-camera systems further enhance this kind of application providing frames from multip...

3-d Least Squares Tracking in Time-resolved Tomographic Reconstruction of Dense Flow Marker Fields

Flow measurement techniques determine velocity vector fields in liquid or gas flows. In fluid mechanics, many methods are based on seeding particles to visualize the flow imaged by an adequate camera system. The tomo-PIV (tomographic particle image velocimetry) technique presented in this paper generates time-resolved volumetric reconstructions of a particle constellation from a limited number ...

Real-Time Multi-view Human Motion Tracking Using 3D Model and Latency Tolerant Parallel Particle Swarm Optimization

This paper demonstrates how latency tolerant parallel particle swarm optimization can be used to achieve real-time full-body motion tracking. The tracking is realized using multi-view images and articulated 3D model with a truncated cones-based representation of the body. Each CPU core computes fitness score for a single camera. On each node the algorithm uses the current temporary best fitness...

Robust and Efficient Photo-Consistency Estimation for Volumetric 3D Reconstruction

Estimating photo-consistency is one of the most important ingredients for any 3D stereo reconstruction technique that is based on a volumetric scene representation. This paper presents a new, illumination invariant photo-consistency measure for high quality, volumetric 3D reconstruction from calibrated images. In contrast to current standard methods such as normalized cross-correlation it suppo...
